Reaching New Heights

Reaching new heights with rock climbing!

Support was provided by 12 Finger Outdoor Adventure. Individuals with Fragile X and siblings of those affected by Fragile X were given the opportunity to rock climb outdoors in a picturesque Utah canyon. Also, other activities were available for the group: frisbee, bubbles, and donut-on-a-string eating contest. Lunch was provided for everyone (sandwiches, chips, carrots, snacks, and water).

One of the young men with Fragile X (age 31) climbed to the top of all three routes and still wanted more! Prizes were handed out, and he won the large gold medal.

About 50 people attended including FX families, 12 Finger Outdoor Adventure employees and volunteers that were there to participate and enjoy a great first rock climbing activity for the Fragile X Association of Utah.

Special thanks go to Dan Christopherson owner of 12 Finger Outdoor Adventure and all of his climbing / belaying volunteers. More thanks go to all the volunteers that helped keep kids on the trail and out of harm’s way while climbing.
